But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13 KJV)
A Father and a family not of flesh and blood; that is our family. Of course, there are many flesh and blood family members in that family as well. We have been united with God and with one another through the blood of Jesus the Christ, who is now our brother.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10)
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God that we are united with him by God's grace alone through faith alone!
