The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Prov 9:10 NIV
Martin Luther and we teach that "We should fear, love, and trust in God above all things." To do all of these three really is a big step forward toward wisdom.
It is not wise to trust or love anything or anyone else before God. Trust Him above all others. He is almighty. He can accomplish things that no one else can. Love Him because He first loved you. He loved you even when you were dead in your sins; even when we turn our backs on Him. Fear the Lord for as well as being our Father, He is also our creator. He gave us life and He has the final say in whether we live or die.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matt 22:37
