Good Gifts

Called To Be Stewards Of All Gifts From God

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
                                                                    (Luke 12:42-44, 48b KJV)

God gives us many gifts. These gifts ought to be used to glorify Him. In the beginning God made us His stewards over all that He created. It is simply good stewardship to take care of the gifts that He has given us in a manner so that they might help us or our neighbors to grow.

Therefore; we have the saying that to whomever much is given, much is required. The more that we have been given there is more to care for so that the gift does not waste away. Whether it is material or spiritual things that are given us; whether it is plant, animal, or human beings, God would have us to look over these gifts in accordance with His will in order that His Name might be glorified.

May God help us to be good stewards of all that has been given us.

Joy

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
                                                                                     (3 John 1:4 KJV)

Children are a great blessing. They bring with them much joy. But, there is no greater joy for a Christian parent than to know that their children and grandchildren walk in the way of truth. Jesus is the truth.

At his last meal with his disciples Jesus let his disciples know that he would be leaving this world; that they should not worry as one day they (and we) would join him in our Father's house.

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
                                                                                  (John 14:2-7)

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Listen to him; follow him, trust him for by faith in him, who is the truth and the way, we are know the Father and live eternally in His presence.

Joy for Christians parents comes in know that their children live with hearts of peace and genuine joy. Genuine joy comes with knowing and living in the presence of God for all of eternity; not just for life after death to this world; but, for today.

Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
                                                                                   (Psalm 16:1,11)

Waiting For Justice

"How long, Lord, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
but you do not save?
Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.
Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted."
(Hab 1:1-4 NIV)

How long, LORD, must the people suffer at the hands of one another? There are times when we would really like immediate help from the LORD; times when we need a major miracle or two. But, the truth is that God has given us free-will in many areas of our lives and we choose to hurt one another. We choose to put our own wills before the will of God. We choose to put what we want before the good of the whole.

God will answer our prayers. But, beware; the answer may not be what we're hoping for. May God help us to lead gentler lives; lives that do not inflict violence or injustice upon others. May He lead us in His way so that we are not the wicked that others are praying for deliverance from.

May God grant us mercy and give us His peace.

Every Eye Shall See

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
                                                                                                      (Rev 4:7-8 KJV)

Every eye will see him. I was told by someone that I care about that they do not believe like I do. I was told, "When you're dead you're dead. There is nothing more." It is heartbreaking to hear someone that has been taught the truth; deny Jesus the Christ.

He is "the One who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." (vs 8 NIV) It does not matter whether one believes or not. Denial does not make him less or non-existent. The day will come when every eye will see him; every knee will bow before him; even those who pierced him; even those who denied him.

Be careful with your words. Do not deny the one who died for you. Jesus said, "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." (Matt 10:33 KJV)

He is, he was, and he yet will come again. He is the Almighty God who created you and who would save you from yourself.

Saved By Grace Through Faith

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  (Eph 2:8-9 KJV)

We often cling to sins that we committed years ago. That's not to say that we have continued to repeat them. But, sometimes, no matter how hard we try to forget them, we do not. The devil keeps reminding us of our past acts against God and against humanity. And... we continue to live in our guilt.

Sometimes, we are able to make amends to those we have harmed. But, that will not wipe out our guilt for having sinned in the first place. There is nothing that we can do to wipe away our sins. We cannot "fix" them with the works of our hands. Our sins cannot be cancelled out by anything good we might think we do. Just about when we might think we're balancing the scales the devil will rear his ugly head and remind us of yet another sin that we need to atone for. It's a never ending cycle. Do not fall for the devil's tricks. You have been saved by God's grace through faith.

Your sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus. There is only one way that you can be saved from your past or your present sins. By the grace of God you are saved through faith. Salvation is not something that you can earn. Salvation is a gift from God. Have faith that this gift is for you. Receive it! Live in this truth and tell the devil to depart in the name of Jesus Christ for your sins are forgiven.

Only God Knows; Listen To Him

As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. (Eccl 11:5 KJV)

I make a lot of mistakes. I am human. I am not God. None of us are. He knows all things. We do not. Therefore, it behooves us to take the time to listen to Him so that we can know the way in which we are to go. We ought to study His Word; get to know His Word so that we don't fall so far off of the path that we damage ourselves and the people around us.

There are times when we choose the wrong way with the faulty thinking that it will not hurt us or if it does, it will only hurt ourselves and no one else. We end up suffering the consequences for not listening to the all knowing God.

The only way we can know in which direction we should be going and that is to listen to what the Spirit of God; the Spirit of Christ, would tell us. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 KJV) Unless you've got some place better to be than with God, then it would be very wise to listen to Jesus. Only he knows the way. He is the way. Listen to him!
