1st Sunday In Advent; If you're looking for hope, joy, peace; look for them in the way the Good Shepherd leads not in the ways of the world.

Jesus Is Among The Living

“Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away..” (John 20:15 KJV)
We spend a lot of time looking for something; looking for more; looking for something different to satisfy our desires.
What or whom are you looking for? The ultimate is already here for you. He is there with you, right now. Can you not see him? If not; then, maybe, it's really not Jesus that you are looking for. Maybe it's someone or something else that you think might satisfy you. Maybe you're looking in all the wrong places. Maybe, you're looking and living among the dead when you ought to looking in places where there is life. Jesus is life. He is "the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6)
The women did not find what they were looking for in the tomb. The tomb is empty. Jesus is not among the dead. He is among the living. If you're looking goodness; if you're looking for peace; then look for Jesus and look no further than around you. Jesus is Risen! He lives with you. He lives all around you. He is with you now and will be with you always.

Looking For Jesus
The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;
(Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)
When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
(John 6:22-24 KJV)
What are you looking for? How hard would you look to find it?
It makes me a bit crazy when things are lost and I or someone else cannot find them. I cannot do anything else until it is found.
The crowd was looking for Jesus. They knew he hadn't left in the boat with the disciples. They had not seen him walk on the water to join the disciples in their boat. They wanted to find him. They wanted to see him. They wanted to hear him. They wanted to be healed by him. So, the whole crowd got into boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus. They were trying hard to find him. They were trying hard to follow him.
How far would you go to find Jesus; to follow him? You really don't have to go far. It's not that hard to find him. He is with you and for you now and always.
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Rev 3:20)

Whom Are You Looking For?
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” John 20:15 NRSV
Indeed, whom are you looking for? He is there with you, right now. Can you not see him? Then, maybe, it's really not Jesus that you are looking for. Maybe it's someone or something else that you think might satisfy you. Maybe you're looking in all the wrong places. The tomb is empty. Jesus is not among the dead; but, among the living. If you're looking for Jesus, look no further than around you. Jesus is Risen! He lives with you. He is with you now and always.
