Devil And Earthly Lusts Depart
"For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."(Gal 5:13-17 KJV)
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Matt 6:24)
The lusts of our flesh and the Spirit within fight against one another as the devil is always in conflict with the Spirit of God. It can be a major battle especially for those with addiction problems. The Good News is that the Spirit of Christ will help us to flee from the temptations of the devil and overcome any worldly lusts that we may have. The Spirit of Christ will teach us how to put behind us our own earthly desires so that we might live empowered by the Spirit loving one another.
Jesus is the ultimate example of how to love one another as he gave his whole life for you. Focus on him and walk in the Spirit commanding that the evil spirits, that would lead you to a self-centered way neglecting to love and care for others, would flee in the name of Jesus.
Love one another and live in peace!

Seek The Lord
Isaiah 55:6 NKJV
It would be easy to give up and let the world have it's worldly way with you. But, the Word of the LORD reminds us to seek Him and His Way. God's ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts.
We must trust in the good will of God our Father and the good works of our Lord Jesus Christ and not in our own power or strength. We must always remember that no matter how bad things get, God is still in charge. He can turn the greatest tragedy into the most marvelous triumph. From the most troubled time, He can lead us out in joy and lead us forth in peace; the peace that only He can give.
Seek the LORD and call upon Him.

Listen and Learn!
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Titus 2:11-14
Okay! So, since the grace of God teaches us to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, when are we going to learn? Do not get me wrong. I know a tremendous number of Christians who are truly passionate about live for Jesus. Unfortunately, I also know a tremendous number of people who are more passionate about worldly things and endeavors than about doing what is good and right in and for the Kingdom of God.
Pastors can preach and preach about the grace of God; about the glory of our great God and Savior; but, it does a person no good if they are not willing to listen and learn. It takes more than just sitting in a pew to have a relationship with our Lord and Savior. Our attention needs to be on the Word, who is Jesus the Christ, so that we can get to know him; so that we can truly understand how much our God loves us. He loves us enough to die to redeem us from all wickedness creating in us hearts that are eager to do our Father's will.
The grace of God and the hope of the appearing of his glory should be enough to instill in us a desire to follow in the footsteps of Jesus; offering ourselves for the sake of others. Do not let worldly desires pull you away from experiencing the great grace and love that God has for you.
