Psalm 19:14 KJV May all that we think and say be acceptable to the Lord.

Dead to Self

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20 KJV)

Although I should live by this scripture daily, every now and then I have to remind myself that it is not I who lives and serves for the I in me has been crucified with Christ and it is he who lives and serves through me. 

Whenever we start thinking that we can do anything worthwhile under our own knowledge or strength we are living to our fleshly desires and our self-serving egos. We must give it all up to God and trust that Christ will work in and through us for the good of all people.
