One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.
The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples." (Luke 8:22-15 NIV)
Storms will come and go in all of our lives. Some of us seem to endure more than others. In the story from Luke, Jesus is with the disciples when the storm arises. His presence does not mean that the storms will not come. In fact, it may mean more storms. But, we know that, with a little patience and a whole lot of faith that Jesus is with us no matter how rough the storm gets, we will pass through the storms into the glorious light of the Son.
God grant us the faith and the patience to weather the storms until You decide that it is time for the storms to be stilled. Amen
