Let Us Live In Peace

Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:"
                                                                                     (Isa 26:2-4 KJV)

More riots and destruction of private property and ultimately the destruction of people's livelihoods and lives. When will it end? Peace does not come by destroying others because we might be angry about something that has nothing to do with the persons we are bent on destroying. This destruction enshrouds the people who must endure it in darkness. Who has the right to destroy their hope; their peace.

Real peace is not produced by anger or vengeance. Real peace comes from within. It comes from trusting in the Lord Jesus the Christ who abides in us and we in him no matter what is going on around us. Yet, it not right that some would spend so much time attempting to destroy the peace of those around them in order to satisfy their own anger or vengeful hearts.

Before he departed this world Jesus told his disciples: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

And, he prayed for them and for all who believe: "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:" ( John 17:21-22)

May God help us all to recognize and empathize with the needs of others so that there will come about a bit more semblance of peace in the world around us. God grant that we should live as one honoring God and consider doing no harm to those around us.

God help us to keep our hearts and minds centered on and trust in the Lord and the peace that he has promised  each of us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God's Peace - Pr. J.
