Reap What We Sow

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
                                                                                                        (Gal 6:7-10 KJV)

I often hear the word karma used by others. The word karma is not in the Bible. However, according to St. Paul's letter to the Galatians there are consequences for our actions. There are negative consequences for those who look only after their own flesh and to the detriment of others. There are positive consequences for those who are concerned about doing what is right. One of the greatest of these positive consequences is to live in the peace that only God can give through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Do not misunderstand. We are not saved by our positive works. We are not saved by anything that we do. We are saved by grace alone through Christ alone. Because we are saved by the grace of God and because of the great love that he has for us as evidenced by the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus the Christ, we love Him and strive to do what is right, not for our glory; but, for the glory of God.

May God help us to do what is right and live in His peace.

God's Peace - Pr. J.
